Sesil Karatantcheva is one of four women to get through qualifying in Brisbane. Joining her are Galina Voskoboeva, Alla Kudryavtseva and Ekaterina Ivanova.
Karatantcheva also went through qualifying in Brisbane last year, and reached the second round.

Hmmm, two players representing Kazakhstan qualify for Brisbane (while another plays under "KAZ" in the Hopman Cup). Suddenly, The Stan in a happenin' tennis principality... even though none of those players are actually technically "from" their new country.
Sometimes, tennis is just neat. :D
I noticed that, too. One has to pay attention these days.
