Diane Elayne Dees is a writer who, for five years, published The Dees Diversion, a blog about liberalism, feminism, the liberation of non-humans, social mores, and the WTA. Diane also blogged two and a half years for the Mother JonesMoJo Blog, and for five years, she and her husband were the webmasters of Princess Cafe, the world's only virtual rock and roll restaurant. Diane writes short stories, poetry, essays, and creative nonfiction, and is a three-time Pushcart Prize nominee. She is also a psychotherapist in private practice.*
Diane is a life-long fan of women's tennis. Her favorite current WTA players are Amelie Mauresmo, Patty Schnyder, Jelena Jankovic, Flavia Pennetta, and Dinara Safina. She also enjoys and appreciates Vera Zvonareva, Anabel Medina Garrigues, Anna Chakvetadze, Sam Stosur, Marion Bartoli, the Bondarenko sisters, and Sabine Lisicki, as well as some lower-ranked players whose games are varied and interesting.
