I just recently saw this quote being attributed to Ivanovic and I am sincerely hoping that she is being misquoted or that it was taken out of context, but knowing how silly and stupid Ivanovic's previous quotes have been, I am perhaps of the view that she did in fact say these words.

It's being quoted all over the place, which doesn't mean she actually said it, of course. I'm going to guess that she did, however.

I just asked Rich over at DTL and he said yes that she did say it. What an absolutely idiotic young woman. I wonder if she actually thought about what her words meant? I just cannot believe it.

After all that people like the Famous 9 and Billie Jean have fought for, we have this little air head who needs someone to hold her hand to even finish a match talking about no one wanting to watch women matches. This just makes me so sad

The tour created this monster (I'm not referring to Ivanovic), and now the tour has to deal with the consequences. Last night, hearing Lindsay Davenport compliment Sharapova on her "listening" after twice, she met on-court with her coach and got some handy tips on how to stop losing--made me cringe. The concept of learned helplessness keeps coming to mind.

I was just as incredulous as you guys were!! However, this idea of women's tennis being inferior is a notion which has been entrenched for so long, Ana is just running with it. Certainly not excusing her behaviour, but Ana is not really one for critical thinking now, is she? I don't care how many books on Freud or philosophy she has read. I wish she would stop pouring herself into her bikins for Maxim, or SI, nodding her head like a puppet about how much she loves shopping and get on with the game.
