Henin receives Laureus nomination

I don't know why I neglected to mention this a few days ago, but I did: Justine Henin has been nominated for the Laureus World Sportswoman of the Year award. As well she should be: Henin won ten titles in 2007, including two Grand Slams and the Sony Ericsson Championships. She was also the first player in ten years to win ten titles.

Henin's competition for the award includes pole vaulter Yelena Isinbayeva, heptathlon champion Carolina Kluft, swimmer Libby Lenton, soccer player Marta, and golfer Lorena Ochoa.

Nominated for the Laureus World Sportsperson of the Year with a Disability is Esther Vergeer of The Netherlands, a wheelchair tennis player who has gone unbeaten for four years.
