Quote of the day

"There's a lot of pressure to look good, get noticed. Everyone talks about it, but you have to deal with it in your own way. I'm just trying to play tennis."

  1. I didn't even realize I'd put an "L" in there (you'd think I'd catch a typo in a 3-letter word!)--thanks for catching.

  2. I'm assuming this is from the Langley article: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/tennis/wimbledon/7840044/Wimbledon-2010-Womens-tennis-is-as-much-entertainment-as-sport-says-sport-boss.html
    ANY OTHER THOUGHTS ON IT?

  3. I hope it causes more players to speak out. Sports is entertainment, and top players are celebrities. That is reality. But when players are overlooked (which we know they are) because they don't have the "right" look, it's disturbing. And if they're actually being pressured--overtly or otherwise--to change their looks, that is very disturbing.
