Antoniychuk suspended for using illegal substance

Kristina Antoniychuk has been suspended by the ITF for 14 months for doping. Antoniychuk, who plays for Ukraine, tested positive for furosemide in Acapulco in February. Furosemide is a diuretic. Antoniychuk said the furosemide was given to her as a prescription medication, but the ITF maintains that she was nevertheless responsible for ingesting a banned substance.

Antoniychuk has had wins against Andrea Petkovic, Carla Suarez Navarro and Jelena Dokic.
