Update on Clijsters
Kim Clijsters, it turns out, is not seriously injured. Her left foot is bruised, and she may be able to play in tomorrow's Fed Cup competitition. Today, she defeated Maret Ani of Estonia, but had to go to the hospital when she injured her foot.
Diane just read where Kim will be out for 6 weeks. She is on crutches to help alleviate the pain in the foot and not put pressure on it. In addition, she is quoted as saying that even though the injury is one where she may be out for 6 weeks, she is going to be intensive therapy to be able to come back before.
Nope not at all. Lots of questions for the clay season on the women's side right now. So many injuries and so many players who are really not playing well right now. Saw that Henin lost her match today against Kanepi. Did not see that match but I understand that Henin was still going for the 'go for broke Wimby in sight" style of play. She also has a broken pinky finger. Stuttgart and Rome should give us an idea of everyone's health for Roland Garros.

ReplyDeleteI just saw, too, that she's out for a while. Well, that didn't turn out the way we thought, did it?
