It should come as no surprise that the last two women in the Pattaya Open draw are top seed Vera Zvonareva and home favorite Tammy Tanasugarn. Zvonareva overcame 4th seed Yaroslava Shvedova, 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 in today's semifinals, and Tanasugarn easily defeated Sesil Karatantcheva, 6-2, 6-0.
In doubles, Tanasugarn and partner Marina Erakovic reached the final by defeating top seeds Anastasia and Arina Rodionova. Their opponents will be Anna Chakvetadze and Ksenia Pervak. Chakvetadze and Pervak defeated 2nd seeds Jill Craybas and Julia Goerges.
Hope Chakvetsade can pull something out in doubles. I want her to come back in singles. I am rooting for Zvonareva just for her to get some confidence back after the ankle injury problems.
