What's even stranger is that Corina Morariu remarked later that "we won't tell Zvonareva that Tracy Austin said she can't win this tournament." Talk about projection! Austin never mentioned a name.
I'm really glad i don't have to listen to those commentators in here, i mean, i could but i prefer the latinamerican ones, they are for the most part respectful and objective (only for women tennis, for the men they tend to overpraise, you guess right, argentinians: just like Serena, they never lose, just didn't play their best ><).
So, Zvonareva couldn't win according to Morariu and maybe Austin? I guess i've been following a different tour, cause she is more likely to advance than a couple of the rest.
In fairness, when she isn't being "cute" or sniping about players' bank accounts--when she is just talking about tennis, I think Morariu may be the best commentator on U.S. television. I like her usual partner, Leif Shiras, a lot, too. To me, they are the best team of commentators we have.
I like Corina Morariu now, she used to get on my nerves a lot. I also like Katrina Adams and Leif Shiras. Notice that ESPN2 had Cliff Drysdale partnered with Pam Shriver for the final, am wondering why they don't use 2 women together in the booth...

Good point. I agree. The least likely to win is Kuznetsova.
BTW, she's just lost to Zvonareva in straight sets.
