Diane, thanks so much for that...cheered me up and helped take my mind off some hassle(storm damage to roof, and emotional storm damage from family) Ah, wine tasting lessons with Amelie.....what a wonderful dream....... Claire
horizontal guttering loose and flapping about after a big storm overnight on Tuesday, and since we are a top flat(apartment) the local council insisted it be done asap which meant loads of phone calls and arranging things in a hurry(neither of which I'm good at).....but fingers crossed it is ok now: only problem is, we had to pay the entire cost initially, and now have to try to recoup the share from each neighbour in the other six flats....oh the joys of a shared building.... :(
oh, and in the attempts by the men to see if they could lean out of my bedroom window to fix the guttering(they couldn't - and ended up having to go and hire scaffolding)my venetian blind was cowped(trans.: knocked)off the fittings and is broken beyond repair, and I am now blindless and curtainless.....no energy left to try to sort that out so it will be done when it gets done......sheesh.....

What happened to your roof, Claire? I hope nothing that can't be fixed by a glass of good wine :)
