Twelve of the sixteen were unseeded in qualifying rounds. The highest seed to make it is De Los Rios, who was seeded number 10.
And Mariana Duque-Marino is in as a lucky loser.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I noticed that ex-Russian Shvedova is now representing Kazakhstan... talk about going from a relative pauper to a princess when it comes to her national ranking, huh? :D
I heard about Shvedova a few days ago. Yes, she will definitely be her country's top player.
ReplyDeleteI think that Shvedova's WTT experience could serve her well in terms of giving her more net experience. She did well this year for her team.
