I just came to your site to get some insight on this situation. I turned on the television excited to see the hottest player in the women's game, and they didn't show one point! I understand that the Fish match was important, but it was not close, and they did not switch to Safina once! Give me a break, she's been playing incredibly this summer! Also, I had to wait until an hour into the Jankovic match before CBS started coverage yesterday. They don't start showing a basketball game at half time! I'm really disappointed with CBS coverage!
And to top it off, when CBS showed the score of Safina/Groenefeld to be 5-5 in the 1st set, Mary Carillo and the others started talking about how that match was so much closer than the one they were actually covering.
I was hoping they could hear me yelling at them all the way up in New York... but, alas, they are apparently deaf, as well. :)
Seriously, it was like CBS hired all the old ESPN2 directors and producers from when that network's coverage was a complete and total embarrassment (it's at least gotten a little better the past two seasons).
USA is far from perfect, (I could deal w/o the musings of both Ted and Austin) but the number of hours they air and the variety is usual top notch in my opinion.
I don't know what is in store for us next year w/ ESPN. Todd Spiker, I'm scared if what I've witnessed the past couple of years is an improvement : )

I'm really grateful to have DirectTV and not be held hostage to the agenda of CBS.
I'm so happy for Anna-Lena.
And glad that you are safe and sound Diane!

Mike, I wish I understood what happened. I feel pretty strongly that it would not have occurred on the USA Network.
Thank you, Kia!
