Bartoli and Azarenka move on in Brisbane

Victoria Azarenka, seeded number 2, survived a spirited second-round challenge from Jarmila Gajdosova, whom she defeated 7-6, 7-5, at the Brisbane International tournament. Joining Azarenka in moving to the next round was 3rd seed Marion Bartoli, who defeated qualifier Melinda Czink, 5-7, 6-3, 6-1.

Not so lucky was Sam Stusur, who lost her second round match to Lucie Safarova.

In doubles, the top four seeds all won their first-round matches.

Did you see the Vika match? I never realized how bad her attitude can be. Quite off-putting.

I'm officially a Gajdosova fan though. Nice potential.

I had no access to watch the match, no. I have seen Azarenka play several times before, though, and have never seen anything from her but very good sportswomanship. She must have been having a bad day.

I obtained a little more detail about Azarenka's behavior. It sounds like she went all Rodionova on everyone. Goodness.
